Żywiec BreweryMuseumintroduces the visitors to a 150-year old beer world. The fact that the Museum is located in old maturing cellars carved in solid rock makes the place mysterious. Walking through rooms illustrating traditional method of beer brewing becomes an incredible travel in time.

The visitors are taken there by an interesting machine with a vibrating floor and blinking lights which takes them to year 1881, straight in Galician 19th century street where you can hear voices of the passer-bys and the clatter of horses’ hooves. At the end of the street, there is an inn where you can sit by a table and enjoy the atmosphere of the past years. The innkeeper with a small moustache will surely take your order. Besides, after leaving this modern, interactive museum, every guest will be served a glass of golden Żywiec beer!

It is a unique example of medieval town of a mining history. Has its own rich history, unique atmosphere and specificity. These factors, as well as a great cultural tradition started here in the Middle Ages, when The Bochnia Salt Mine was established.

It is one of the oldest salt mines in the world and the oldest one inEurope.

Deserted chambers, shafts and passages form a so called underground town, which is now open to sightseers. The largest of the preserved chambers has been converted into a sanatorium.

While visiting Bochnia Salt Mine, you can meet working miners and you can admire some other attractions like Wazyn, the salt mine’s biggest chamber measuring 50m in lengh and 10m in width. You can find here beds, pillows and sleeping bags!

Over a hundred aircrafts can be displayed, with everything from pre-war Polish fighter-planes to German Albatrosses, Spitfires and Soviet Kakaruzniks. Some of the exhibits are unique examples of their kind.

Recently museum has prepared a temporary exhibition titled: Aviation Archeology, which was open in the museum’s big hangar.

There are some famous ones, likeNationalMuseumandHistoryMuseumwith its branches, but also smaller ones exist, hidden in the mysterious corners of the city.

TheMuseum of Municipal Engineeringis such a place.

It was founded in 1998 and it is housed in a former tram depot built around year 1900 for the first in the city electric tram. Here are displayed objects illustrating the development of municipal transportation, power plant, public utilities as well the history of technology and Polish automobile industry.

The part of the museum is designed as a supplement for college education, where organized groups of class children can made their own experiments.

It is a great place to visit with all family, as everybody will find something interesting for himself here.

     Here,  John Paul II used to appear to talk and joke with people gathered around.

    Ones he said, that its not easy to be a pope in Rome, but in Krakow it would be more difficult, as he would have to stand in the window all the time!

    On the 1th of May, we will celebrate his beatification, gathering near the window, praying and recalling all beautiful moments and graces we have experienced thanks to him.

    Around 6 not many people you will see on the streets, maybe some cannons heading to the cathedral  or older very elegant ladies, going for the morning mass and wearing their glows and hats with so big style and pride.

    Town is slowly coming to life. You can hear the church bells and see the first rays of sun putting a beautiful light on the old historical buildings.

   After such a walk you can have a cafe in the main market square, watching the pigeons and hearing the bugle call from the tower of St Mary’s basilica, which will make you feel like a real Cracovian.

   Few days before 10^th of April, the final preparations in Krakow for the one year anniversary ceremonies are completed.

    The major ceremonies will take place in The Royal Cathedral on Wawel Hill and Rakowicki Cemetery, but there will be much more places where habitants of Krakow will gather to commemorate one of the saddest days in polish history.

This most famous mound in Poland, is situated on the Blessed Bronisława Hill in Krakow. A    symbolic tomb is a tribute to the great national hero, Tadeusz Kościuszko.

The grave of the general created in imitation of the Mound of Krak, a legendary founder of Krakow, was built in the years 1820–1823. It was built from the soil from battle fields of the Kościuszko Uprising – Racławice and Maciejowice and from the places of battles fought by Tadeusz Kościuszko during the American War of Independence.

The Kościuszko Mound is a highlight of the Krakow landscape. The place that used to be pictured by painters, now enraptures the tourists with its beautiful panorama. There is a view from the mound over the historic old town, Wawel royal castle, but also forests and valleys of the region.

Marking the 40^th anniversary of the death of artist Stanisław Vincenz’s and promoting the Hutsul region in art, the exhibition focuses on highland culture and the life of mountain folk. Paintings, woodcarvings, sketches and handicrafts show the traditions of  far south – easterly corner of the Carpatian mountains.

Exhibition is a part of Hutsul festival, which is taking place in Krakow.
